Dear Minstrel Academy exists as an academy to bring you quality music and ministry education. Our vision is to raise city shakers after the Davidic order.
About the Academy
The Dear Minstrel Academy is a learning institution founded by Mr wealth. Mr wealth began his journey into the music ministry with intense quest for knowledge.
He had questions He needed answers to, He searched for any available institution that could serve as an equipping centre for the music ministry but found known, He searched for books and materials that could serve as a guide to the music ministry specifically but couldn’t find.
Disturbed about the scarcity of information and blueprint necessary to equip the young music ministers for ministry he purposed in his heart to solve that issue if God grants him Grace.
Mr wealth had such an incredible process and encounters in the hands of God that convinced him that God was preparing him for something more than singing. There were times he’d receive teachings from dreams and visions concerning the music ministry, There were times he’d sit with the likes of Tim Godfrey, Nathaniel Bassey, teaching him about the music ministry, Artistry and the music business. He invested years into trainings both online and offline on the music Business, artistry, worship Leading, Leadership, Team building and so much more.

In 2017 He received an instruction from God not to go for NYSC but to dedicate one year in the House studying materials, reading and listening to messages. That Year, Mr Wealth covered about one thousand materials both books, audio, and articles on various subjects necessary for ministry and Leadership.
He began ministry in Oct. 2016 with his debut song titled BIGGER THAN which received incredible attention from thousands, on starting ministry, Mr Wealth by Gods leading thought it wise to share the little he knew concerning the music ministry with a social media thought series tagged “DEAR MINSTREL” it featured every Thursday.
That thought series became the rave of the moment for young music ministers in Port Harcourt, south south and the world at large. It grossed attention in their thousands. Thousands of likes, comments and shares characterized that thought series. It became a sure guide to many young music ministers offering them clarity. All this was so because God has anointed Mr wealth with wisdom to raise people.

This book has sold thousands of copies and has become one of the most sought after book for young music ministers.
Officially in 2023 Mr Wealth began the Dear Minstrel Academy with a very equipped structure as an online and an offline Academy. DMA is registered and since then has graduated over 100 students with thousands of others getting impacted through the visual series on YouTube channel and write ups on Facebook.

The Problem We See
- The problem of gross ignorance clothed with spirituality which serves as a limitation for effectiveness in the Gospel music landscape.
- The problem of sexual immorality and poverty of character steming from lack of proper equipping through trainings and Discipleship.
- The lack of balance between the skill and the anointing in the life of ministers.
- The poverty of clarity amongst Gospel Artists which stems out of lack of proper training which in turn makes them run with confusion and wearies them later on.

This is the heart of the Academy. You’ll be guided through the real meaning of music ministry — what it is and what it is not. From the altar to the audience, you’ll learn how to minister with understanding, spiritual depth, and divine purpose, not just musical skill.
Worship Leading
Leading worship is more than singing songs. At DMA, you’ll be taught how to carry people along in moments of encounter, flow with the Holy Spirit, and prepare both spiritually and practically to lead others into God’s presence.
Music Business & Promotion
You’ll gain practical knowledge on the business side of music ministry — how to position your songs, promote your events, and manage your brand in a way that maintains your message while reaching a broader audience. Learn how to steward your gifts without getting lost in the noise.
Music Theory & Application
You don’t have to be a professional instrumentalist to understand music theory. This part of the training breaks down the basics — scales, chords, progressions, rhythm — and shows you how they apply to your singing, songwriting, and live ministry sessions.

Every minister needs a strong, aligned team. In this module, you’ll learn how to build a music team that functions with excellence, unity, and vision. We’ll cover communication, conflict resolution, leadership, and the systems that help teams grow together.

How the academy works
Training Structure & Duration
BASIC TRAINING: This is a one year intensive training aimed at covering all the Basics of ministry, music, artistry, Music Business, Systems and structures, song writing, song promotion, publicity, branding and worship Leading etc.
These basics are deeply rooted in transformative wisdom, necessary to empower every student for effective ministry and music career all their days of active practice.
This Basic training is Divided into 3-Month Sessions.
The program runs for a full year, thoughtfully broken down into quarterly sessions. Each session is designed to focus on specific areas of growth and development, allowing students to build steadily over time.
These basics are deeply rooted in transformative wisdom, necessary to empower every student for effective ministry and music career all their days of active practice.

Classes are designed to be offline and online friendly.
It is structured with 4 classes Per Month (2 Online, 2 Offline/Streamed) Students will attend four classes each month — two online and two either held physically in Port Harcourt or streamed live for remote participants.
