In this media age one of the Greatest investments you can make especially if you want to build and sustain good relationships is to invest in EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE.
Early this year,
Someone sent me a message that i couldnt reply for a week. Apparently my WhatsApp chats had cleared up and i didnt even see the message.
This week (2 months later) i got to hear from a mutual friend how offended the person has been.
Friends, let’s apply more emotional intelligence In our dealings with people. Give people lots of reasons so you can sustain positivity towards them. We tilt towards the negatives too quick.
It is not everytime that someone isnt picking your call or replying chat that they are proud or they are ignoring you. What if they have been in a critical condition and cant even look up their phones?
Errrrrr but they are making posts on Facebook and even coming online. So what if they have media handlers doing all of that?
The world does not revolve around you alone or around your need of them. Stop thinking only in terms of your need of them.
I am getting to really understand how priceless Emotional Intelligence is of recent. And the way everything In me appreciates people who have this quality is uncanny.
Infact at this point in my life it’s one of the major qualities i look out for before i even relate closely with anyone. I think it takes a great deal of selflessness to be emotionally intelligent.
Selfish people are always all about themselves and the only metrics they use in Judging a thing especially on relational grounds is how they feel. They never consider the possibilities surrounding the other party.
I think it’s a quality anyone who wants to be great at building relationships and connecting with people of value should build. If you dont have it, you will build up offenses a lot in your heart for people over trivial matters. You will discount sensitive relationships that could have built something more profitable over time, relationships that a little bit of emotional intelligence could have saved.
I think, Our lack of it is making us cancel people too quick.
